    Michael A. Wiencek, Jr.

    Michael Wiencek has a passion for making change in people’s lives. He founded Wiencek + Associates on that very principle, along with a mission to create an environment where other architects could be nurtured and challenged.

    Brad Marson
    Executive Vice President & COO

    Brad has over 12 years of executive experience in real estate development, property management and business development. He specializes in improving operations, delivering excellence and continually growing a stellar team.

    Scott S. Matties
    Executive Vice President & Studio Director

    Scott brings more than 25 yrs of experience in design and master planning of award-winning residential, commercial and institutional projects. His focus is affordable housing and senior communities in the DC metro area.

Our Staff

  • Ryan Anderson
    Project Architect
    RA, ASID

    Ryan received a Master’s of Architecture from Tulane University in 2011. He joined Wiencek + Associates in 2016 after spending the start of his career in construction doing estimation, specification review, and technical drawing.

  • Tannaz Alavi
    Assoc. AIA, PMI, LEED Green Associates, RS Means and ICC Certified

    Tannaz joined our firm having earned a Master’s of Architecture degree from Eastern Mediterranean University and a PhD in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Maryland School of Architecture.  Her diverse background includes experience residential architecture, engineering studies and cost estimating, and working with a civil construction firm.

  • Andrew Benavides
    Architectural Designer

    Andrew earned a Masters of Architecture degree from the University of Florida before returning to his hometown of DC where he hopes to utilize his passion for bridging the gap between design and the people of the world.

  • Philip Dayao

    Philip is working on his Masters of Architecture degree at the University of Maryland.

  • Raedun de Alba
    Project Manager

    Raedun is a registered Architect and an active member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) in N. Virginia.  She earned a Bachelor in Architecture with a Minor in History from Carnegie Mellon University. Her experience ranges from custom residential homes to multifamily to mixed-use and religious buildings.

  • Veronica Elizalde Molina
    Sr. Project Designer

    Veronica has over 16  years of experience, particularly in Multifamily and Mixed-use projects. She earned her Masters in Architectural Design from Texas A&M. She has a passion for affordable housing and mentoring staff to understand how buildings go together.

  • Temitayo Fasusi
    Project Architect

    Temi is a registered Architect who earned her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Temple University in 2011.  She has 8 years of experience in multifamily, and design management experience in hospitality and restaurants.

  • Jeremiah Fordham
    Project Manager
    RA, Certified Passive House Designer

    Jeremiah has over 6 years of architectural experience after earning his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Pratt Institute.  He is passionate about sustainability, which led to him becoming certified as a Passive House Designer.  He has worked on a multitude of projects from multifamily to multi-story logistic centers.

  • Brittani Garza
    Contract Administrator

    Brittani earned a BS degree in Business Management from Rivier University in Nashua, NH where she also captained the women’s Field Hockey team.  She is a strong problem solver who enjoys multitasking, analyzing operations to identify solutions that improve work flows and maximize business processes.

  • John O'Hara
    Project Manager

    John is a registered Architect who strives to make a meaningful impact through the built environment.  He earned is Master’s in Architecture from Virginia Tech. in 2018.  His experience ranges from multifamily to event planning spaces and spends his free time crafting beer.

  • Gia Pontes
    Gia Pontes

    Gia came to Washington, D.C. in 1997 from Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she studied Journalism. She then completed a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture at The Catholic University of America.

  • Benjamin Ripley

    Ben has an Associates Degree in Architectural Technology and is working on his Bachelor’s of Architecture degree at the University of Maryland.

  • Krutika Shah
    Krutika Shah
    Project Manager
    Krutika joined Wiencek- Associates with 6+ yrs of experience in public and private sector in mainly Metropolitan Washington area. A graduate of Urban Design from Carnegie Mellon University, she has worked on master planning, civic architecture, and sustainable design projects.

    Carl Skooglund
    Project Manager
    AIA, CDT

    Since joining the field of architecture in 1986 Carl has held positions in small & large architecture firms and a non-profit housing developer. He has experience in both new construction and renovation projects.

  • Evan Smith
    Architectural Designer

    Evan joined our team having spent several years working on the iconic Wharf project in DC. He earned a Bachelors in Architecture from Howard University and studied architecture abroad in Paris and Africa.

  • Saakshi Terway
    Saakshi Terway
    Assoc. AIA, LEED Green Associate

    Saakshi joined Wiencek-Associates in 2017 after earning her Master of Architecture degree as well as her certification in Sustainable Landscape Design from the University of Cincinnati. She worked as a licensed architect in India and gathered experience in different fields before completing her masters.

    Kumi Wickramanayaka
    LEED Green Assoc.

    Kumi joined Wiencek-Associates after earning her Master of Architecture at the University of Cincinnati where she participated in their prestigious CO-OP program giving her valuable experience in producing construction documents for new construction senior multifamily housing.
