The Meadow Green apartment complex is an existing garden style rental property consisting of 461 units in 53 buildings on five contiguous square blocks in Southeast Washington, DC. The community was originally built in the 1940’s. The owner intends to revitalize the community via phased demolition, resident relocation, and new, higher density multi-family housing and for-sale townhome construction.
The Master Plan concept is designed to create a Central Park like feel, inspired by the existence and placement of Heritage Trees within the property, to inform building placement, access points, site circulation and open space systems similar to Central Park in New York City. This represent an extraordinary opportunity to for the new community to transform a perceived liability into a tangible and lasting asset.
